I am still loving Costa Rica! I am slowly getting more familiar with the city. I think I could find my way back home if I ever get lost... hopefully! I got a tico phone yesterday so I can stay in contact with my friends here and call my host family if needed. Costa Ricans call themselves ticos. I also went to the super market for the first time. They had a lot of American brands, just translated into Spanish. A lot of things are "American style" . Like the nail salons, clothing stores, etc.
Soccer is very popular here, just like in most of Central America. Sunday morning I played soccer with the other USAC students. Then we walked around the city and went to a cafe called Cafe Delicias. I had an amazing maracuya (passion fruit) smoothie and a pecan cinnamon roll. I will definitely be going there often! Sunday night, some friends and I went to a bar called Bocaditos to watch the football game. I had some delicious nachos! I have yet to try Costa Rican beer though.
My first day of class was this morning. I have each class one day a week for 3 hours. That will take some getting used to. I only take classes with other USAC students. There is about 10 people in my class. I have my Latin American cuisine class this afternoon. It should be really fun!
The last couple days have been a little cloudy. It also mists often. But at least it hasn't rained yet!
Also, the fruit here is better!
